Precautions For Using SPC Stone Plastic Flooring in Bathrooms

1. SPC flooring itself is 100% waterproof and moisture-proof, so no additional moisture protection is needed. The underlayment and IXPE membrane are mainly for providing a comfortable feel underfoot and sound absorption.

2. Never buy the moisture-proof underlayment separately, as the quality of IXPE membrane varies greatly. If purchased separately, it's easy for sellers to shift blame if problems arise. If you buy it yourself, remember to ask the supplier for a test report.

3. Never choose an excessively thick IXPE membrane; 1.0mm and 1.5mm thickness are sufficient. Some sellers deliberately increase the thickness of the IXPE underlayment to increase the flooring's thickness. If the flooring's locking system is already thin, using an excessively thick IXPE membrane will cause the floor to sink slightly when stepped on, and over time, it will make the locking system more prone to cracking.

4. Never use SPC flooring in the following areas:
Balcony: Prolonged exposure to sunlight may cause discoloration, or large temperature differences may cause thin boards to warp.

Bathroom wet areas or areas frequently exposed to water: Damp areas. Moisture and stains will trap in the flooring gaps, causing unpleasant odors in the bathroom.

5. The length of a continuous floor plan should never exceed ten meters. If it's too long, it's best to use partitions or create a foyer to divide the space. The principle is the same as with wood flooring: if the continuous floor plan is too long, the flooring is prone to warping and buckling.
